The human mind is curious, ambitious, egoistic and imaginative; a true artist always strives to go beyond the known and the seen. In recent times, there has also been a return of the prodigal son to a large extent in the domain of visual arts, with respect to more artists falling back on the representational form of art. There’s a surge back towards one’s root emotions and the corresponding response in art, in terms of perception of one’s life and looking at it more closely, using artisanal methods to give material expression to these. The craft of the hand is gaining back in importance and value, as on the other extreme end of the spectrum Ai. Da the very human looking beautiful robot ,creates paintings and sculptures with her heartless “brain” and her grotesquely mechanical appearing hands. Human artists have are reverting back to age old mediums like painting and sculpture with some vengeance. And then, amongst the artists, there is such a distinctive difference in perception and expression of life and the world between male and female artists, broadly.
The fourteen artists here, are chosen for their bouquet of widely varying expressions, that perhaps may titillate the senses of the viewers, intellectually, visually, and emotionally.
