Sanchita likes to work on paper, and her preferred medium is collage and mixed media. Her themes vary from landscapes to figures that are often iconic or religious. Her works come from a space of observation of the world from a distance, thereby imbuing her works with an almost abstract illustrative quality for which the medium of collage seems to be very well suited. The random pieces of paper that she uses as her building blocks carry their own images, rendering a layered quality to her works, that is purely accidental than instinctive. This technique also makes them acquire an arbitrary kind of three dimensionality that is extremely painterly in appearance. This semi-abstract slightly angular imagery of landscapes, figures, etc derived from collages seeps into her paintings too; hence making her use of different media quite inseparable in appearance in her various works, wherein, ironically, her paintings too take on the appearance of collages.
