Beli works in acrylics on paper and she is very much the pure landscapist. Her style is very instinctive and bold and she’s not afraid of the brush. She wields it like one would use one’s hands while scratching oneself; its expressionistic use on paper, so unconsciously confident. Hence her moon glows larger than visually perceived because she’s thinking of only the moon while painting the rainy nightscape in “Rainy Day”. It’s a psychological illusion that we perceive the moon appearing amongst the rain-clouds, after days of rain as something splendid, big and wonderfully bright. Beli’s rendering of elements of nature is like she’s representing them from a haptic perception. Her imagery is guilelessly naive, yet dynamic and forceful, rendering her paintings with an almost physical palpability.
