Artist Statement of Work
My journey in the field of arts began at a very early age by observing my father who was working as a freelance artist. I had interest in fine-arts since childhood and he had always helped my art works to gain my form .His way of doing the work and seeing the world seemed unique to me at that age that he continued to give me inspirations till i was exposed to the great big world of art and artists through books and the internet.
Initially I used to compose my works inspired by my daily life especially from viewer experience such as a hostel life, physical journey from hostel to college characters from the street and the local community. With time as a social issue come infront of me slowly which have helped me developing my work. I observed that I have an insight from the core of my heart to work on issues which were directly visible such as crisis of hostels, educational problems, which developed my time to think of indirect issues, such as political and social loopholes.
As I stated, my present works are based on everlasting political dilemmas always proving to be true at any given time of the history taking place at variable landscapes. It has three main components ’power’, ’greed’, and ‘lust’. There elements have always empowered declined my point of view.
If I talk about my figures which are visible in my work- they are all based on poverty, representing the below poverty line community people whom the mundane eyes tend to ignore because we are so used of seeing them. I presume that these people are heroes in my work like my father who is also a farmer in a country like INDIA, where they are the most discarded by the society.
